The Big Music Project

The Big Music Project wanted to engage and inspire today’s youth to get into the multi-faceted music industry.

They needed to tour the UK with live performances, an interactive back-stage area, capacity for workshops and one-on-one coaching…a career fair the likes of which young people had never seen before.

ACP made it happen.


CBBC wanted to bring the best of the channel together for a three day showcase event including the first ever live broadcast of Blue Peter.

They needed multiple stages and safety to be paramount as 10,000 parents and children flocked to the free event.

ACP made it happen.

Elton John

Blackpool Council wanted to stage a major concert to celebrate the opening of the new Tower Headland.
Elton John agreed to perform at this concert, which was promoted by Marshall Arts.

The promoters and local authority needed an experienced production company to procure the infrastructure and site manage the event.

ACP made it happen.

BBC Learning

BBC Learning wanted to take their flagship science programme, ‘Bang Goes The Theory’, on the road, enthusing people of all ages and backgrounds about science.

They needed to bring the show to life for their audience giving them live, interactive, on and off-stage scientific experiences.

ACP made it happen.

BBC Radio 2

BBC Radio 2 wanted to do something exciting, that hadn't been done before...to put U2 on top of BBC Broadcasting House in Central London for a secret gig.

They needed to have everything in place to close part of Oxford and Regent Street, put barriers up, liaise with police, get technical equipment ready… and all in total secrecy until moments before when it went viral across the media.

ACP made it happen.

Prince's Trust

Prince's Trust have their annual “Celebrate Success”, to mark the achievements of young people who have battled against the odds to improve their lives.

For the awards ceremony, in the presence of HRH the Prince of Wales, they needed an event production company who could stage the high profile awards, in a challenging central London location, the Odeon Leicester Square, complete with celebrity red carpet arrivals.

ACP made it happen.

Blackpool Council

Following previous successes, Blackpool Council wanted the switch on of Blackpool illuminations to be an extravaganza which would draw crowds from across the country.

They needed a company who could produce an event with three days of live music in a public place, in front of the iconic Blackpool tower, culminating in a Celebrity Illuminations switch-on. This event had to be something Blackpool could shout about.

ACP made it happen.

Radio 6 Music/ BBC Radio 2

BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music wanted to stage outside live broadcasts, events and intimate gigs in a range of locations around the UK.

They needed to source venues, reliable and comprehensive event management, artist liaison and high quality technical provision.

ACP made it happen.

Bristol Food Connections

BBC Radio and Music Production wanted to build a 350 seated capacity, acoustically draped theatre as part of the wider Bristol Food Connections festival.

They needed to broadcast multiple live shows over 11 days.

ACP made it happen.

BBC World Service

BBC World service wanted to mark the closure of its famous home, Bush House, by simultaneously broadcasting seven live radio shows around the world to 220million listeners.

They needed a comprehensive event management package to stage a series of events where the car park transformed into a live radio studio, performance space and party venue for the three day farewell.

ACP made it happen.

Westminster Council

Westminster Council wanted to hold a showcase event to promote the West End, sell theatre tickets and give something back to the local community.

They needed to present snippets from 30 different hit West End shows, such as the Lion King, and present an array of interactive children’s activities, to deliver a free festival in Leicester Square.

The event soon outgrew Leicester Square and moved to Trafalgar Square.

ACP made it happen.

BBC Learning

BBC Learning wanted to take 'BBC News and Sport on Tour' and bring the BBC out to its audience.

They needed an event production company who could transform their many ideas into reality. From giving the general public an opportunity to present the news and weather to seeing how a busy news programme is produced, they wanted an interactive event that made a lasting impact on their audience.

ACP made it happen


MTV wanted to hold an intimate Alicia Keys concert in Manchester Cathedral.

They needed high quality and professional technical infrastructure and a complete event management package including stakeholder liaison. They needed a team they could rely on as the event was going to be broadcast to 88 countries around the world.

ACP made it happen.

Edinburgh Festival 2011 to 2014

As part of their exciting and evolving presence at The Edinburgh Festivals, the BBC needed to transform a derelict space into a festival site, which could stage a broad range of BBC produced live events, including comedy, music, radio and children's activities.

They needed an event production company who could ensure this pop-up venue safely hosted over 10,000 people per day for 800 hours of live festival content, which included facilitating over 350 hours of radio and tv broadcast.

ACP made it happen.

LOCOG Olympic 2012 Torch Relay

Blackpool Council wanted an experienced event production company to liaise with the Torch Relay Team and produce a memorable event in Blackpool.

However, due to bad weather on the day, the major outdoor event had to be either cancelled or relocated at the last minute.

It was successfully moved to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and the Torch Relay was uninterrupted and able to proceed, despite all of the last minute changes.

ACP made it happen.

Marshall Arts

Marshall Arts wanted to promote Paul McCartney's new album via a top secret gig in London’s Covent Garden that remained under-wraps until he played the first note.

They needed to deliver the event by ensuring all technical equipment, safety measures and infrastructure were in place on a truck, ready for Sir Paul to surprise the passers-by.

ACP made it happen.

BBC Radio 2

BBC Radio 2, in association with Smooth Operations, wanted to stage an event to celebrate folk music and the people who make it.

Having the show production in place, they needed an event production company to provide the technical infrastructure for a slick-running, multi-artist award show.

ACP made it happen.

Harrow Council

Harrow Council wanted to put on an annual community festival to showcase all that Harrow has to offer from music and theatre to sport.

They needed an event production company who could transform their creative ideas and deliver an event which was produced safely, professionally and within the constraints of a limited budget.

ACP made it happen.


The ACP team have been working with the guys from CBBC to produce CBBC Live & Digital in Hull. We spent all of October putting the finishing touches to the 2 day event staged inside the Hull City hall and outside on Queen Victoria Square. Themed around the past 50 years of technological innovation, the event showcased 7 zones of digital content and activities aimed at a family audience. more information on the event can be found here. ACP worked with its suppliers to provide infrastructure and event technologies that complimented the event and provided a perfect platform for the event to broadcast from.

Blackpool Illuminations was bigger and better this year. Our client, Marketing Blackpool, worked with new partners to rebrand the flagship 3 day festival as iFest. Director Tim Burton was on hand to push the plunger that started the iconic light show. ACP provided full production support pre, during and post the show. We worked with some exciting new suppliers to provide an innovative new stage with huge projection walls at either side and lighting designs that wowed the crowds!

The 2015 BBC Folk Awards were AMAZING! The Wales Millennium Centre was a fantastic host venue and an interesting change to the usual home of the Royal Albert Hall in London. The highlight of the production was having 2 veterans of the ACP gang back in the field for us, Wesley Cameron and Kirstie Evans, you had been missed!  The highlight of the show, was watching Elbows Guy Garvey perform The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face live with the MacColls, simple beautiful! Click to watch it here.

Well, what can we say, March was a funny month full of change & decisions, lots of positives coming out of it though so onwards and upwards!!   April has been pretty busy so far, Brett was down at Putney Bridge on the weekend covering the BBC presenter stage for the Boat Race and we have the BBC Food and Farming Awards and the BBC Folk Awards happening at the end of month too, fantastic food and folk music, can’t go wrong with that!!!

What a month its been. We had the Grand Final of The Big Music Project on February 19th in the iconic indigo 02. It was a fabulous event that brought together the cream of the talent and event partners who had all played a massive part in the overall project. It was a little sad though, the Big Music team have been such a large part of our lives for the past year that not having a reason to speak to them every day (you know who you are) brings a little tear to our eyes! Andy did get a final bonus of a invitation to the Brits though, which softened the blow a a little!!

Happy New Year to one and All… ACP are going into 2015 with a fresh new feel to our public face, we hope you all LOVE it!!!

The Big Music Project Competition tour, which ran for 2 weeks through November was AMAZING and a massive success. the tour visited 13 cities in 19 days. Antony Bellekom, the man behind the project said.. “I have to say the competition tour was a complete joy. The standard of competitor was high and Brett and the team were excellent throughout. As ever, thank you for your contribution to the project” We’re now looking forward to the ‘Grand Final’ thats happening on February 19th 2015 in The Indigo 02.

The ACP Team attended the 2014 Festival Supplier Awards last night at the Showmans Show. Although we didn’t win we are so pleased to have been shortlisted for Best Production Team for our part in BBC @ The Edinburgh Festivals.Well done to everyone who was shortlisted and won, especially our friends at the NoNonsense Group who were riding high last night after winning .  It was also an excuse to break out the glitter and high heels (for Andy of course)!!!

ACP have been nominated for Best Production Company in the 2014 Festival Supplier Awards. How blooming wonderful! We can’t wait for the ceremony at the Showman’s Show on October 22nd, keep your fingers and toes crossed for us please!!

September began with Blackpool Illuminations Switch On Festival. Andy and the team were all there to make sure the festivities went off with a BANG. We got to work along side our friends at No Nonsense Group, Utopium Lighting and Production House again which is always a pleasure and produced the most ambitious Switch On event yet.
